Santa brought so many presents for Callum! He knew exactly what to do with wrapping paper and made short work of it...

We spread out opening things over all of Christmas Day and then the next couple of days, so he'd have a chance to play with everything without getting overwhelmed...Thomas toys and books, Mickey Mouse everything, a tractor, earphones and a magna-doodle for the plane ride, Smarties...

Reading a Thomas book with Grandpa on Christmas morning

By the time we drove to Aunt Gillian's for Christmas dinner, Callum was pooped and fell asleep on the short drive.

Callum, Grandpa and Grandma all caught a bug after Christmas. Here's Callum milking it for all it's worth :-)

Callum is looking forward to having Santa come to our house in a few days, but he's even more excited to have Daddy home on holidays. They've been playing banjo together this week

Daddy came home this morning! Callum was very happy to see him after three long weeks. We went out to the Christmas tree farm for a wagon ride, visit with Mickey Mouse, campfire with marshmallows to roast, and apple cider. There was definitely a chill in the air today but no snow yet!

Sure I can re-wire this for you Mum, just hand me my toolbox

This kept us busy for a long time...

Photo with Santa, take two!

Callum, Grandma and Mummy rode the North Pole Express to go see Santa. Mummy sat backwards to try and take photos and video of everyone, but I'd forgotten how fast the train goes and I quickly got a teensy bit nauseous and gave up taking pictures.

Grandma and Grandpa set up the Wendy House for Callum! Aunt Gillian and Mummy used to play in it, and so did Nathan when he was younger. Callum loves waving at people through the windows, and will make you stand in his sight-line so that you can be waved at.

Does no one else think he's starting to look like a McGough?

When Mummy was at her first-ever craft show yesterday, Callum went to see Santa again, this time with Grandpa and Grandma! Santa and Callum waved at one another but didn't have a full visit. Callum is excited to go back again to talk about the toys he'd like for Christmas :-)
Like so many other things, I don't know how it started - but here's Callum wearing his socks on his hands.

He ran in circles for ages with his sock-mittens

Discussing what a good boy Callum is

Tuesday, 20 November 2012

OK, Mummy's a little useless with scanning in photos so it's a little dark and a teensy bit crooked, but here's our family shot with Santa. We hadn't planned on everyone being in the photo, but Callum didn't want to sit alone and somehow this is what we decided on.
We'll go back for another visit and see if Callum will sit with Santa by himself, now that they've met once before :-)

Grandpa's tree has a continuous supply of oak leaves to play in

Callum was really swinging from the rope yesterday! He was taking a running start and lifting up his feet to swing like a big boy

Hiding under the bed

Grandma and Grandpa bought Callum a pinwheel and it was a perfect, windy day for testing it out at the beach

Looking for sticks and stones to throw into the Lake

 Where's Callum?

 Stacking coffee creamers over breakfast

Callum dragged five chairs together to make an obstacle course for himself and Elmo to crawl along, back and forth.

Bundled up for playing on the beach. Callum kept doing a dramatic fall and flopping around in the sand. He is a bit of a ham.

Happy to be reunited with Daddy

Getting pulled around by his feet

The cottage we're staying at has a secret pull-down ladder leading to a loft. It's a big hit with our climber. There's also bunk beds with a ladder, and when Daddy wasn't paying attention for two seconds, guess who scooted up to the top bunk?
