Boy was it hot today...34 degrees without the humidex, more like 40 with. And no, we don't have AC - poor Callum is just miserable. We went out driving just to get cooled off.
In spite of the heat and the fact that he's teething in earnest, Callum showed me a new skill today: he tucked his little legs up to his chest and rolled onto his side and stayed there, three times in a row...which means I have to really watch him now, as rolling all the way over can't be far behind :-) He was watching his friend Violet do it today, so maybe tomorrow he'll have figured it out.

Grandma bought Callum a couple of short-and-t-shirt sets for the summer. Yes, I tucked the t-shirt into the shorts - he's teething, and keeps wadding up his clothes and stuffing them into his mouth to chew on. I hoped tucking in his nice new shirt would keep it safe (it didn't).

An update to my last post - Callum has completely mastered the lobster toy in his crib, probably through all the time he spends practicing with it...at midnight

Today he discovered that playing with only one toy at a time is for babies - he prefers to kick the support bar and make all the toys dance at once

It's getting easier to put Callum down for naps during the day...he'd still prefer to snuggle with Mummy, but here he is on the couch, covering his little eyes from the sun

...and reading his favourite book :-)

Yesterday I showed Callum how to play with the aquarium in his crib and he didn't seem to care. Today as I was going to get him out of his crib I heard a new noise...he was twirling the little lobster! I was so surprised...then I showed him that the starfish twirls too, and he tried that right away. I'm pretty proud

Callum is also working hard at learning how to roll over, and as of yesterday he has started to notice our kitty. Especially her tail...look out, Molly :-)

Every time I start to think Callum looks a little like me, I take a picture like this...and it's his daddy staring back at me

Callum's able to keep his head up by himself almost all of the time. This morning on his tummy he was trying so hard to move forward and couldn't understand why nothing was happening.

And here's Adam turning tears into tickle time

After working hard on his tummy last night, Callum relaxed next to Daddy

Callum is full of smiles and is talking non-stop these days...

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit Callum for a few days. I don't know how I'm supposed to entertain him by myself now...he didn't stop giggling the whole time they were here.

As I'm sure I've mentioned, we think Callum is teething already - yes it's way too early, but his Aunt Gillian started around 2 months, so it's possible. As you can see from the picture, he's trying to put anything into his mouth (anything except the chew toys we have for that purpose...)

Callum is really tuckered out after his big day. To start with, he had a bath and for the first time he didn't scream and cry - he played with the water, splashing around and having fun. Then we went for a play date at the Early Years Centre, and he got to meet a bunch of other babies. So now he's quietly napping with Daddy...

Here's Molly patiently waiting for her turn on the exercise mat

Notice the excess drool? I'm pretty sure Cal's working on some teeth. He's also pushing off my hands while on his tummy, head up, and moving along the floor.
